Woman and 2 children killed in head-on crash on 15 Freeway in rainy San Bernardino County desert

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a tragic head-on collision occurred on the 15 Freeway in the rainy San Bernardino County desert, resulting in the deaths of a woman and two children. The incident took place during heavy rainfall conditions, making the roads slippery and treacherous.

The unfortunate incident involved a Kia vehicle that was traveling south along the freeway. As the driver navigated through the wet conditions, the car began to hydroplane, causing it to lose control. The Kia veered out of its lane and entered the northbound lanes, directly colliding with an oncoming vehicle.

Sadly, the woman behind the wheel of the Kia, as well as two children who were passengers in the vehicle, did not survive the impact of the collision. One of the deceased children was identified as a resident from Los Angeles. The other victims' identities have not been released at this time.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene promptly to attend to the injured parties and assess the damage. The CHP reported that all lanes of the 15 Freeway were closed for several hours following the accident due to clean-up efforts and investigations.

Authorities are urging motorists to exercise caution while driving during wet conditions, as rain can significantly increase the risk of accidents due to reduced traction and longer braking distances. They also advise drivers to maintain a safe following distance from other vehicles and avoid sudden lane changes or hard braking maneuvers.

This is a developing story, and more information will be released as it becomes available. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those who were tragically taken from us during this unfortunate incident.
