The impact of the collision caused both the Toyota and Honda to spin out of control and collide with other vehicles.

As a result of the accident, several individuals sustained injuries, ranging from serious to minor. The Dallas Police Department reported that at least six people were injured and transported to local hospitals for treatment. One person suffered serious bodily injuries and was identified as the victim of the aggravated assault charge against Rice.

Rice, 23, was charged with eight offenses in total. In addition to aggravated assault and six counts of collision involving injury, he also faces charges of failure to stop and render aid and driving while intoxicated. The DWI charge is a Class B misdemeanor, while the other charges are felonies.

Rice joined the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2021 and appeared in 13 games during the 2022 season. He recorded 11 receptions for 118 yards and one touchdown. The Chiefs have not yet released a statement regarding the incident or Rice's status with the team.
