Melania is told to ditch Donald Trump by Stormy Daniels after guilty court verdict, pointing out 'he is a convicted felon'

On August 21, 2022, a Manhattan jury found former President Donald J. Trump, 77, guilty of 34 felony counts related to the criminal case brought against him by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. The charges stemmed from a hush money payment made during the final days of the 2016 presidential campaign to adult film star Stormy Daniels, who claimed she had an affair with Trump more than a decade prior.

Trump and his company, the Trump Organization, were indicted in July 2021 on charges related to the payment made to Daniels through Michael Cohen, Trump's former personal attorney. The indictment alleged that the defendants submitted false and misleading business records to the State of New York with the intent to defraud.

Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, revealed her affair with Trump in 2016, which led to a $130,000 non-disclosure agreement (NDA) being signed just days before the presidential election. The payment was made through Cohen, who later pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations in connection with the transaction.

Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing and has maintained that the payment was a legitimate legal expense. However, the jury in the case disagreed and found him and the Trump Organization guilty on all charges.

Following the guilty verdict, Daniels released a statement through her attorney, Michael Avenatti, expressing her satisfaction with the outcome. She stated, "The jury's unanimous decision today sends a clear message that no one is above the law. I am grateful to the brave jurors for their courage and commitment to justice."

The consequences of the conviction for Trump are yet to be determined. He could face fines and potential disqualification from holding public office in New York. The case is expected to be appealed.

Melania Trump, the former First Lady, has not publicly commented on the verdict or the implications it may have for her husband. However, the conviction could potentially impact her relationship with her husband and their marriage. The couple has been married since 2005.
