Red Sox Reportedly Promote Two Talented Position Prospects

The Boston Red Sox have promoted two of their top position prospects within their farm system in recent news. One of these prospects is Kristian Campbell, a 21-year-old second baseman who was drafted by Boston in the third round of the 2020 MLB Draft following his final collegiate season at Georgia Tech.

Campbell, who hails from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, showcased impressive skills during his time at Georgia Tech. In his final college season, he batted .333 with 13 home runs and 43 RBI's in 58 games. His strong performance earned him numerous accolades, including being named to the All-ACC First Team and being a finalist for the Dick Howser Trophy, given to the top player in college baseball.

Since being drafted by the Red Sox, Campbell has made a quick ascent through their farm system. He began his professional career in the New York-Penn League (NYPL) with the Lowell Spinners, where he hit .303 in 34 games. His impressive play earned him a promotion to the Carolina League (CAR) and the Salem Red Sox, where he continued to excel, batting .308 in 35 games.

The Red Sox have now promoted Campbell to the Double-A level, where he will join the Portland Sea Dogs. This promotion marks an important milestone in Campbell's young career as he continues to progress towards reaching the Major Leagues.

Another promising position prospect that the Red Sox have recently promoted is outfielder Jarren Duran. Duran, who was drafted in the fourth round of the 2018 MLB Draft, has been on a tear this season in the Double-A Eastern League (EL) with the Portland Sea Dogs. In 58 games, he has hit .338 with 13 home runs and 37 RBI's while also stealing 15 bases. His impressive play earned him a promotion to the Triple-A level with the WooSox on June 25th.

Duran's promotion to Triple-A marks an important step in his development as he continues to work towards making his Major League debut. With both Campbell and Duran showing great promise and making quick progress through the farm system, Red Sox fans are excited about the future of their young position prospects.
