Playdate preorders begin in July, handheld to ship later in 2021

Preorders for Playdate, Panic, Inc.’s indie-gaming handheld with a black-and-white screen and a crank on the side, will begin in July, and the company expects to ship units later this year. The console comes with 24 games to be released over a 12-week first season of content. Panic also announced two peripherals, the Playdate Stereo Dock (a speaker and charging station) and the Playdate Cover for the screen.
