Dallas Cowboys receiver, Super Bowl champion Golden Richards dead at 73

Golden Richards was a former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver who played for the team from 1980 to 1984. During his time with the Cowboys, he won three Super Bowl championships and was named to the Pro Bowl in 1983.

Richards had been battling congestive heart failure for several years, which is a condition that causes fluid buildup in the heart and can lead to heart failure. He also struggled with health and drug abuse issues throughout his life.

In addition to his football career, Richards was known for his work as a motivational speaker and author. He wrote several books, including "The Golden Rules: A Guide to Success," which was published in 2013.

Richards was born on July 25, 1948, in Dallas, Texas. He played college football at the University of North Texas before being drafted by the Cowboys in the second round of the 1980 NFL Draft.

During his time with the Cowboys, Richards was known for his speed and agility on the field. He caught 237 passes for 4,568 yards and 22 touchdowns during his career.

Richards' death has been mourned by many in the football community, including former teammates and coaches. He is survived by his wife, Linda, and their three children.
